How does the Brinkley Model R compare?

Brinkley's first front-living fifth wheel is coming. Here is the whole class it walks into: ten front-living rigs laid out fact by fact, how they're built and what they come with, plus what 1,943 real buyers said about them. No brand bias, and the Model R's tradeoffs are on the page too.

The honest answer first

Six differences that decide it

Weight and cargo

The Model R publishes 18,750 lb empty, heavier than 8 of the ten, but carries a 4,750 lb cargo allowance, the most in the class except Luxe. Match it to your truck's ratings, not the dry hitch number.

One bath versus two toilets

The Model R has one central full bathroom with a single sink. 7 of the ten competitors add a half bath. If overnight guests are your normal, that matters more than any spec.

Sofas and sleeping

An Amish-crafted L-sofa with two recliners plus one 54 by 80 sleeper. Several competitors run two opposing sofas or two sleepers. The Dinesk table doubles as a desk, which most of the class cannot do.

Running gear

Two 10K MORryde independent axles, hydraulic disc brakes, J-rated tires and a 30K GEN-Y pin box are standard. Disc brakes are standard on only two competitors; independent suspension on two.

Climate design

Two 20,000 BTU zones mounted between the frame rails and ducted to every room, instead of rooftop units. Brinkley claims 60 dB; that is a manufacturer claim, not a test we have run.

Price

To be announced. The flyer prices options only. Every dealer-sold competitor transacts 30 to 40 percent under MSRP, so compare configured quotes, not sticker to sticker.

Tradeoffs, stated plainly

  • One bathroom with a single sink; seven of the ten competitors have a half bath.
  • One dedicated sleeper sofa; several competitors have two.
  • Published empty weight of 18,750 lb is higher than every competitor except Riverstone, Luxe and Redwood.
  • Vehicle MSRP is to be announced; the flyer shows option prices only.
  • Frame, wall construction, slide mechanism, leveling and warranty terms are not on the pre-production flyer.

Brinkley came up on competitors' videos, unprompted

  • Never even heard of this brand but new to RV world. Just night a Brinkley 5th. Wheel after much research. This brand never even came up. Beautiful!!! It’s interesting- I’ve been watching a lot of full time living RV influencers on YouTube and none own this brand.

  • Very nice rig and a great price! If it came from one of the companies that rhyme with Shrinklee or Flux it would be double the price!

2 likes · on the Cedar Creek 398FL review by The RV Hunter · open ↗

  • I love how they build the Luxe, but it’s disappointing on the tank capacities, especially with the toy hauler line. Brinkley has bigger fresh water and gray water. Fine if it’s just for a golf cart from park to park, but would like additional capacity if I was taking my SxS or similar to somewhere for a few days and needed to boon dock.

  • I see where Brinkley is the first in the industry to start using brass pro fittings. Be nice if Keystone followed suit. PLUS a great selling point! I too would pay a few hundred extra for it!

  • After having just watched a Brinkley factory tour video... This looks like trash.

  • Kitchen looks great, but not enough light. After seeing how Alliance and Brinkley do rear kitchen layouts with frameless under-cabinet windows, I have to say that the fact it has zero windows over any counter in the kitchen feels like a missed opportunity. Yet the kitchen design itself is very nice. I’d have expected a window in front of the sink/under Microwave at a minimum.

What buyers said on the reviews

94 comments and replies read across 2 videos · 12% positive, 11% negative, the rest neutral or questions.

What they liked

  • The overall look, especially the full body paint and darker Jayco-style decor
  • The front living floorplan with drop-down TV wall and extra sleeping for guests
  • Kitchen storage, natural light and the bedroom/bath layout
  • Heartland being built by Jayco, read as a step up in quality

What they pushed back on

  • Not enough hanging closet space (four separate commenters; '18 inch closet ain't cutting it for two')
  • Too little kitchen counter space
  • Wanting a sectional and a 65-inch-plus TV rather than opposing sofas and a ~55-inch screen
  • Trading the half bath for a dishwasher, washer/dryer and pantry

Complaints, in their words

  • Front livingroom with a big sectional in it!! Nothing smaller than a 65" TV!!

Reviewer criticisms

  • As you can see, the descent seems to be a source of more noise, but it is still very fast.

The RV Hunter at 6:42 · open ↗

Drop-down TV is louder and rougher coming down than going up

  • although the massage here is closer to vibration than to actual massage.

The RV Hunter at 5:53 · open ↗

Recliner massage is really just vibration

  • having a small drawer or a hidden cabinet for a book or something like that would be great.

No hidden nightstand drawer or cabinet beside the bed

  • I think it provides an extra table here, but I don't think it's really necessary.

Research notes

  • Primary video kkTgLJ_k57o has a machine back-translated transcript ('extensions' = slides, 'Subrahan' = Suburban, 'Gaeco' = Jayco). Where it is the only source (outdoor kitchen, four-burner range, ~55 in. TV) the field is flagged or left unknown.
  • 2026 and 2027 floorplan pages publish identical specifications; only base MSRP differs ($134,175 vs $144,375). Unit shown is a 2026.
  • Three packages (Camping in Comfort, Endurance Handling, Premium) are mandatory, so items inside them (tankless WH, 6-pt leveling, 2nd awning, central vac, W/D prep, fireplace, 400W solar, 1800W inverter, Helux pin box, Road Armor) are treated as standard.
  • Standard A/C count is 2; both units shown carried the optional third 15K ducted unit. Heat pump is an option.
  • Brakes: standard is Dexter drum with ABS/Tow Assist; disc brakes are a 7K/8K option or bundled with MORryde IS. Field coded disc_option, suspension coded independent_option, with the standard hardware recorded in notes.

What buyers said on the reviews

269 comments and replies read across 3 videos · 46% positive, 11% negative, the rest neutral or questions.

What they liked

  • The raised front living room with wide steps, opposing sofas and a big fixed TV wall (not a televator); described as apartment-like
  • Full-time livability: storage, kitchen size, king bed suite; 'I want it for full time living' is the top 398FL comment
  • Decor and colour scheme (two-tone island, accent lighting, lit hutch)
  • Perceived value: 'great price' and 'for the money' vs Brinkley/Luxe/Riverstone

What they pushed back on

  • No half bath: guests must walk through the master to reach the only toilet (21 comments, 47 likes across the three videos; the #1 objection)
  • Forest River / Cedar Creek build quality and warranty reputation (7 comments)
  • No dishwasher shown on the 398FL (5 comments)
  • Double-sink vanity eating counter space (5 comments)

Complaints, in their words

  • Beautiful! My only dislike is that I think the bathroom should always come before the bedroom so no one is wlk8ng through my room to go potty.

  • Really nice. Like the living area. As large as it is, it needs a 1/2 bath. Don’t like people going through the bedroom to the bathroom (which is very nice). 😊 I appreciate all the storage, and I agree with others who have said it looks like it would be great for full-time living.

  • It’s NOT just the living room it’s the ENTIRE place that’s awesome!!! It literally looks like a beautiful apartment!! The only thing that would take this over the top is a patio out of sliders where the kitchen table is. But regardless this is chefs kiss!!!

Research notes

  • Model year: the on-camera 398FL units and the manufacturer floorplan page are both 2027; the Cedar Creek features/options list used is the current 2027 list. The 2026 brochure PDF was used only for corroboration (it predates the 398FL, which is a new-for-2027 floorplan).
  • Sister-floorplan caveat: entries tagged [383FB] in the analysis file come from a 2026 Cedar Creek 383FB. Only brand-level construction was taken from it: BAL cable slide mechanism, wood roof trusses, 16-in aluminum studding, real hardwood trim, 50-amp service, winterization bypass. None of its layout, seating, or appliance claims were applied to the 398FL.
  • Forest River's desktop site (forestriverinc.com) returns HTTP 403 to fetchers; the mobile mirror (m.forestriverinc.com) serves identical spec and feature pages and is what is cited. No Cedar Creek 'construction' page exists for 2027; construction claims come from the features list and the 2026 brochure.
  • Conflict - refrigerator: manufacturer standard is a 20 cu ft 110V residential fridge; both 398FL units on camera had the optional 12V refrigerator. Value recorded as the standard (residential); 12V is an option.
  • Conflict - AC count: units on camera had three ACs; manufacturer standard is two 15k Coleman Mach 8 with the third an option / Champagne package item. Value recorded as 2 standard.

What buyers said on the reviews

393 comments and replies read across 4 videos · 12 from people who own one · 31% positive, 23% negative, the rest neutral or questions.

What they liked

  • Brand halo: 'Ferrari/Lamborghini of travel trailers', 'best fifth wheel on the market', factory tour that converts skeptics
  • The hidden front-cap room (sewing room / 'bat cave') and what it could become
  • Kitchen scale and residential appliances; big bathroom; head height for tall people
  • Full-body paint exterior and (for some) the calm white/olive interiors

What they pushed back on

  • Price ($300k-$500k figures thrown around, plus $100k-$150k for a suitable truck); many say a Class A or bus is the better use of that money
  • Weight and size: needs an F-550/5500 or HDT, maxes a pickup, cannot go into many state/national parks; three 8k axles vs 29,999 GVWR math questioned
  • Missing 'obvious' items on a $300k+ unit: dishwasher, W/D (custom deletions), slide toppers, lithium, induction; customization upcharges
  • The hidden office does not work if one partner watches TV; no window; would rather have a bunk room or second bedroom

Owners speaking

  • JD this is the second time I've picked up on your complaining about the glass in the Luxe doors. Just so you're aware, that is an option. You can get solid doors if you want. We are currently talking with a representative and are planning on building one for our retirement plan.

  • Those reaching for their wallets might want to think again. These can reach $300K easily and I've seen some advertised for much much more. Even a used one doesn't save much. A 2023 model was advertised for almost $260K. And I wouldn't bother with a pickup. You'd need a SportChassis. Those are literally mini semis with a Cummins engine with over 1,100 lbs/ft of torque!

Research notes

  • Manufacturer domain is luxefifthwheel.com (singular); luxefifthwheels.com does not resolve. There is no dedicated 48FLB spec page; specs come from the 48FLB tab of the Regent product page, the online builder, and the in-production 48FLB unit #10732 listing.
  • GVWR conflict: Regent page 48FLB tab and builder = 29,999; in-production 48FLB #10732 = 28,000; BTBRV 48FLB = 25,000-26,000 'depending on configuration'; RV Hunter = 29,999. The Regent page's 49RH tab shows 28,000 while BTBRV quoted 29,999 for the 49R, so the two floorplans' GVWRs may be swapped on the site. Est. UVW (24,200) and hitch (5,442) are labelled estimates; RV Hunter's site warns Regent weights vary by build.
  • Roof warranty conflict: manufacturer construction page says 15-year SuperFlex membrane warranty; a Luxe rep told BTBRV 'lifetime'. Manufacturer figure used.
  • Tire load range conflict: advantages page says H-rated 17.5-in; BTBRV reads J and ~6,005 lb/tire off the sidewall of the 48FLB. Transcript used for the unit shown.
  • Standard kitchen is an induction cooktop; a residential range/oven is an extra-cost option (24-in $1,645, 30-in $2,800). Both 48FLBs filmed had residential ranges (36-in GE Profile on BTBRV's), so oven is recorded as 'no' (not standard).

What buyers said on the reviews

268 comments and replies read across 2 videos · 22 from people who own one · 20% positive, 22% negative, the rest neutral or questions.

What they liked

  • Wide body and taller slides finally arriving on Montana
  • The 3800FL floorplan itself (several 'want one' comments, one Brinkley owner would trade)
  • Brand heritage and 'feels like home' interior; long-term owners with few problems
  • Rack-and-pinion / SlimRack slides instead of Schwintek or BAL

What they pushed back on

  • Axle capacity margin on 8k tandems for a 42-ft 7-in, 16,700 lb dry unit (and SRW one-ton truck limits)
  • Wood-based construction: OSB decking, luan skins with no Azdel, wood trusses, roof staples
  • Post-purchase quality and Keystone support (owner reports of failed slides, weak rear heat, roof panels, leaks)
  • Outdated rooftop HVAC; want mini-split, heat pumps or matched Chill Cubes

Owners speaking

  • Hi Josh, I always appreciate factory tours of Montana 5th Wheels, thank you! We own a 2018 Montana Model 3720RL that came with the Norcold 2118 fridge. We do a lot of boondocking on our Canadian snowbird trips to southern Arizona. During our 2021/2022 trip we boondocked 96 days and in 2022/2023 99 days so alot of drycamping. I did alot of work on the back side of the Norcold 2118 to get better cooling efficiency which has really helped being how we operate the fridge on propane during our boondocking. We may eventually convert the fridge to the 12 volt compressor system from JC.

  • Got rid of our nightmare Alliance for a Montana. Figured as many and for as long as they've sold they must be doing something right. Several camping trips later and no problems! Sure they will come but none yet which is totally not our experience with the last rig. This video helped us make our decision. Thanks a bunch!!!

Complaints, in their words

  • Montana is one of the few high-end 5thWs which does not have tankless water heaters; instead, going with extra large water heater tanks (e.g. 16 or 18 gallons). Could you please explain why Keystone went this route with its top-of-the-line model? It seems contrary to Montana's high standards.

  • Awesome unit. You need to highlight the fact you are using what looks like slim rack 2 on your smaller slides and not BAL or shwintek!!! Big selling point for me and I’m sure others! You are pushing the limits of a SRW 1 tons though with these redesigns. Ever considered a third axle?

A year ago I had a conversation with a VP from one of the manufacturers who claimed while Azdel has some benefits, luan is still superior in larger side walls and screw retention. He went on to say the main reason Azdel has suddenly become more widely used is due to cost and supply issues with luan. (His units are Azdel on both wall sides.) Is this something you could do a video on and get to the truth?

Research notes

  • Keystone's 3800FL page (model year 2026) supplies weights, tanks, tires and the brand-wide standards/options list; standard-vs-optional flags were read from the page's feature icons.
  • GVWR is not printed by Keystone; 19,490 is shipping weight + carrying capacity. General RV's 2027 listing says 19,000 and the Keystone presenter said 'just over 19.5' - scorer should treat GVWR as ~19.0-19.5k.
  • p8qMXL28Jk8 is a July 2023 factory tour of the PRE-wide-body Montana. Its construction claims (double luan/no Azdel, Dynaspan OSB decks, wood roof trusses, Road Armor suspension, 16-gal tank water heater) are NOT carried into structure fields unless Keystone's 2026 pages confirm them; conflicts are noted per field. Confirmed carry-overs: 2-in walls, PEX plumbing, rack-and-pinion main slides.
  • Keystone 2026 wording 'composite backed' sidewalls conflicts with the 2023 tour's explicit 'no Azdel'; azdel_or_composite=yes rests solely on Keystone's phrase.
  • A/C count: transcript shows three units on the 3800FL and Keystone's list references 2nd and 3rd A/Cs, but both dealer listings total 31,500 BTU (18K+13.5K = two units). Verify on the build sheet.

What buyers said on the reviews

486 comments and replies read across 2 videos · 43 from people who own one · 14% positive, 6% negative, the rest neutral or questions.

What they liked

  • The front-living floorplan itself: separated living/kitchen/bedroom zones, huge windows, TV visible from every seat (25 comments)
  • Storage: three pass-through bays plus interior storage; owners of the 2025 call it 'great storage inside and out'
  • Outdoor kitchen / Halo griddle on a luxury non-bunkhouse unit
  • Higher-grade GE appliances and a real-size oven ('Anything not ultimately made by Lippert')

What they pushed back on

  • Size, 2,970 lb hitch weight and the dually requirement; several say they would buy if it were smaller
  • Half bath right off the kitchen; strong pull for a laundry/pantry option in that space (top-liked walkthrough comment is about W/D)
  • No workable desk/office; sofas cannot convert and recliners occupy the nose
  • Guest sleeping on two folding hide-a-beds that do not join; slanted upper-deck bed joke

Research notes

  • Model year: on-camera unit and all manufacturer specs are 2026. The 2027 North Point lineup drops the 382FLRB in favor of a 383FLRB whose specs/pricing are 'coming soon' on jayco.com (2026-09-08); 2027 also restructures packages (Luxury Plus, Overlander I standard, 16 in. H-rated tires 'available', ABS/TPMS 'available'), so do not mix 2027 package content into this sheet.
  • WEIGHT CONFLICT: jayco.com 2026 spec page and brochure list UVW 15,470 / hitch 3,045 / CCC 2,525 lb; the video description (Bish's Weights & Measures) and both dealer listings say 15,280 / 2,970 / 2,715 lb. GVWR 17,995 agrees everywhere. Manufacturer values used; the dealer set may be a 2025 carry-over.
  • PRICE: jayco.com does not publish a 382FLRB MSRP; its 'Starting at $117,600' is the 2026 North Point line base. MSRP $151,036 and sale $116,495 are from Bish's RV (Coldwater MI), the dealer that produced the walkthrough. Other dealers reportedly list MSRPs up to ~$174k (not fetched).
  • Package structure matters for standard-vs-option: Jayco lists the Customer Value Package, 5 Star Handling Package and Luxury Package as 'Mandatory', so their contents (dual 15K A/C, tankless heater, king bed, Overlander 2 solar 400W + 1800W inverter, MORryde CRE-3000 + pin box, Dexter ABS/Tow Assist, 17.5 in. H tires, 6-pt hydraulic leveling, 2nd awning, fireplace, GE 21 cu ft fridge, central vac, NuvoH2O, JAYCOMMAND, W/D prep) are treated as standard.
  • Slide count (5) and axle count (2) come from dealer listings only; Jayco does not publish them and neither is spoken on camera. Standard axle rating is not published.

Research notes

  • Model-year caveat: the alliancerv.com floorplan URL contains '2026' but the page currently renders 2027 content (title, MSRP $151,772, datasheet year 2027). Length, height, dry weight, GVWR, hitch weight and tank sizes are identical between the 2027 page and the 2026 brochure.
  • 2027 changes vs 2026 (not applied to this 2026 spec): heat pumps standard on all three ACs, ACs listed as 18K Chill Cubes, dovetail drawers, waterfall-edge countertops, low-profile king bed slide, composite entry step replaces MORryde Step Above, generator option becomes NPS 6 KW, 'SolarMax+' replaces Super Solar Plus with 1,200 Ah lithium and dual 5,000 W Quattro inverters, new paint colors.
  • Conflict: axle rating. Manufacturer standard list and transcript say Curt 8,000 lb; the same options doc offers '8K Axles' as an option and Bish's listing shows Dexter 7,000 lb. Recorded 8,000 (manufacturer); 2 x 8,000 = 16,000 lb axle capacity against a 19,000 lb GVWR.
  • Conflict: AC BTU. Transcript says 3 x 18,000 BTU Furrion Chill Cube; 2026 manufacturer list and dealers say 40,500 BTU total (3 x 13,500). Recorded transcript value with note.
  • Conflict: dry weight. Manufacturer 15,636; transcript 15,600 (rounded); dealers 15,487 and 15,812.

What they liked

  • The floor plan itself: front living with three sofas, private rear bedroom and full bath, half bath for guests; 'reminds me of a home or condo'
  • Sheer size and storage; the coach reads as an apartment
  • Outdoor kitchen (grill, fridge, plumbed sink, TV, speakers)
  • Overall looks with full body paint; 'not your mother's Jayco'

What they pushed back on

  • Jayco fit-and-finish and QC: loose parts on delivery, molding already separating, sticky TV lift, and memories of older Pinnacle failures
  • Only two axles under a 44-ft, 18,800-lb GVWR coach
  • Shower skylight/head height for tall users
  • TV placement walling off kitchen from living room; only one seat with a good view

The storage is nice and also a pain in the A** -high end? where’s the pull out trays? The loveseat is the only good tv viewing -- wth! and those 2 people will also brake an ankle or hip with one misstep. That master toilet is not a PPP -- take out the extra sink and it’s perfect except for the TP holder. I don’t understand 2 sink in an RV master. the % of time both people will be in there showering and washing up is minimal.

Research notes

  • Model year: primary video is a 2027, extra video a 2026. Jayco publishes both years; the 2027 page is the value source where they differ (UVW 15,920 vs 15,870; hitch 3,085 vs 3,095; CCC 2,880 vs 2,930; width 8'6" vs 8'5").
  • Length conflict: Jayco 2027 page says 42'11" while the 2026 page (44'6"), both reviewers (44'9" and 44'7") and RV Guide (44.5) agree on roughly 44.5 ft; 44.5 used.
  • Pricing conflict: on-camera MSRP $185,878 and sale $126,495 are for stock T141453, a different 2026 unit at the same dealer, not the unit toured. Jayco base MSRP is $128,118 (2026, before mandatory packages) / $163,118 (2027). Jayco Factory Direct shows a comparably equipped 2026 at $176,697 MSRP / $119,852 sale.
  • Standard vs option: Jayco sells the Pinnacle with three mandatory packages (Customer Value $4,500, Luxury $12,450, 5 Star Handling $5,993), so items in those packages are treated as standard. Items on the units toured that are true options: full body paint, 3rd A/C, generator prep, dual pane windows (if fitted).
  • Suspension field is 'independent_option': standard gear is MORryde LRE4000 rubberized equalizer with leaf springs, Dexter ABS drum brakes; MORryde IS with 8K axles and disc brakes is an $11,843 option and was not on either unit toured.

Research notes

  • Model year: the crossroadsrv.com floorplan page prints no year, but its numbers (45'3", 17,722 lbs, 3,710 hitch, 3,278 CCC, 54/88/44 tanks, $209,434) match the RVUSA 2026 guide and every 2026 dealer listing. Construction detail is from the 2025 Redwood training manual, the newest CrossRoads publishes; the 2026 RVUSA standards list was used where it differs.
  • 2025-manual vs 2026-list differences: suspension MORryde CRE 3000 -> LRE 4100; three 15K A/Cs standard -> two standard with a third optional; Suburban 60K tankless water heater -> '12 Gallon DSI Water Heater' listed (the unit on camera has a tankless, so tankless is recorded); Go Power solar prep -> Zamp solar prep.
  • Axle rating conflict: rep says 7,000-lb axles on this unit and RVBusiness quotes triple 7K Dexter axles; the RVUSA 2026 chassis list says 'Falcon 8,000 lb. Axles' while the same page lists 'EZ Lube Dexter Axles'. 3 x 7,000 = 21,000 matches the published GVWR, so 7,000 is recorded.
  • GVWR (21,000) and slide count (6) are not printed on the manufacturer floorplan page; they come from the RVUSA 2026 literature guide, whose other figures match the manufacturer exactly. 21,000 also equals manufacturer UVW 17,722 + CCC 3,278.
  • Dealer listings disagree with the manufacturer on weights and tanks (General RV: 17,672 UVW, 19,000 GVWR, 2,794 hitch, 50/76/38 tanks; RVingPlanet unit: 44'10", 16,206 UVW, 3,214 hitch, 2 axles). These look like stale or template data and were used only for price, interior height and LP.

What buyers said on the reviews

What they liked

  • The front living room as a true separate gathering/movie space with two opposing slides
  • Kitchen that is not shrunken by the front living layout; island, coffee/wine bar, hood and lighting
  • Dual-entry bathroom with Jack-and-Jill sinks
  • Storage: bedroom closets, nine drawers, MORryde drawer, cavernous pass-through

What they pushed back on

  • Length and weight: 45 ft, ~24k GVWR needs a dually/HDT and limits campgrounds; many want a 35-ft version
  • Sofa-heavy living room with no sleeper, no theater seating, no desk, no drink surfaces
  • Only one bathroom at this size and price
  • Forest River parent stigma and Schwintek slides at a $180k-250k price

Owners speaking

  • Love the channel JD! Michele and I bought a 2026 43BFC this year, largely due to your reviews of Riverstone. We absolutely love our new rig! I noticed they have made a major adjustment in the 2027 model. The AC temp sensors are now on the wall not in the ceiling! Placing them in the ceiling leads to very inaccurate readings. Otherwise, it's very much like living in a luxury high-end condo on wheels.

Research notes

  • Model year: manufacturer page, on-camera unit and dealer listings are all 2027.
  • Weights, dimensions and tank capacities come from Forest River's 2027 45FLE page (they were 'TBD' when the debut video was shot); the RV Hunter video description carries identical figures.
  • forestriverinc.com returns 403 to plain fetchers; the same data was read from the print view at home.forestriverinc.com and from the raw HTML of the brand feature list at forestriverinc.com/rvs/riverstone.
  • Riverstone's 'Luxury Package' and 'Ultimate Electronics Package' are mandatory, so their contents (6-point hydraulic leveling, washer/dryer, dishwasher, Truma, TPMS, second awning, 2,000W inverter, 200W solar, 65-in TV, hardwood cabinetry) are treated as standard. The Legacy Package (full body paint, disc brakes, 3rd A/C, 400W solar + 100Ah lithium, LCI waste system) is optional and is treated as option even though the unit shown has it.
  • Sister-floorplan caveat: BTBRV's FOW3JcowaNg is a 43BFC. Only brand-wide construction claims (12-in double I-beam, steel cage, fiberglass Impact Guard roof, 3-in hung wall, Azdel) were used; its weights, half bath, walk-in closet and $250k estimate were not.

What buyers said on the reviews

85 comments and replies read across 3 videos · 2 from people who own one · 27% positive, 26% negative, the rest neutral or questions.

What they liked

  • Storage: full pass-through basement plus the rear MorRyde slide-out tray and the many hidden cubbies (the one verified owner's favorite thing).
  • The front-living layout itself: big entertaining room, separated kitchen, feels like an apartment and is seen as a full-time/retirement rig.
  • The hardware story: fiberglass roof, Omega frame, independent suspension and disc brakes are noticed and praised even by people who pass on the floorplan.
  • Two bathrooms and full-size vent fans; the huge rear bath and recessed shower.

What they pushed back on

  • Kitchen counter/prep space is repeatedly called inadequate; the hutch is mocked as dollhouse-sized; no dishwasher at this price.
  • 50-in TV is too small for the room; several say 55-75 in should be standard and a Brinkley owner cites a 65-in.
  • Schwintek/cable slides on a $120k+ coach is a stated deal-breaker for the most-liked commenter.
  • No bathroom reachable with the slides in (confirmed by Myles) is called a deal-breaker for travel-day use.

  • Model-year mix: manufacturer page and MSRP are 2027; the 2026 Solitude brochure (Rev 12.4.25) was used for items missing from the 2027 page (6-pt hydraulic auto-level, central vac, 60K BTU tankless, receiver hitch rating, 2026 UVW 15,000). Josh and THATRVGIRL toured 2026 units; Myles toured a 2027.
  • The granddesignrv.com 380FL page renders via JavaScript; specs were taken from its embedded meta fields (UVW 15,800; hitch 3,052; GVWR 19,000; GAWR 14,000; 496 in length; 101 in width; 161 in height; 97 in interior; 83/106/106 gal; 60 lb LP; 35,000 BTU furnace; 30,000 BTU A/C; 20 cu ft fridge; 5 slides; 2 axles; ST215/75R17.5 LRH; R-40/R-11/R-45/R-11; shower 48x30; queen std, king opt; 2 awnings; sleeps 6; MSRP $180,926).
  • Standard features on the 2027 page include: Drop Frame Chassis, Upgraded Axle Hangers, 5-Side Aluminum Cage Construction, Walk-On Roof, Fully Enclosed Underbelly w/ Heated Tanks and Storage, Worry-Free Composite Roof w/ Lifetime Warranty, MORryde Independent Suspension System, MORryde Pin Box, 17.5" H-Rated Cooper Tires, Stealth A/C System, 35K BTU furnace, On Demand Water Heater, Whole House Water Filtration, Brass Plumbing Fittings w/ Shut Offs, 50A service, 55A converter, Hardwood Cabinet Doors, Hardwood Drawer Boxes w/ Undermount Guides, Solid Surface Countertops, Theater Seating, Double Tri-Fold Hide-A-Bed Sofas, Front Cap Windshield, Washer/Dryer Prep, Ultrafabrics Ultraleather Furniture, Rockford Fosgate stereo, OmniConnect WiFi Ready, Tire Linc TPMS, Roof Ladder, 17.5" undermount spare.
  • Standard packages on the 2027 380FL: Max Built Construction, Peace of Mind, Residential Living, Weather-Tek. Optional: Extreme Lithium Package, Dual Pane Windows, Slide-Out Awnings/Toppers, Heat Pump A/C, Generator Prep, NPS 6000W LP Generator, King Bed, Full Body Paint, Ultraleather color choice, Desk & Dinette Hybrid Ensemble, Dinette Booth, Solitude Solar System (300W/2000W inverter), 7K or 8K Axles with Disc Brakes. Package contents are not itemized on the page.
  • CONFLICT brakes: reviewers say disc brakes are standard with the MORryde IS on the 380FL; manufacturer brand-wide options list still shows disc-brake axle packages as options. Recorded as disc_option per brief rules; verify with Grand Design before scoring.

Sources and method

Model R data is from Brinkley's supplied pre-production flyer, revision 090426, and will be replaced by production specifications when released; the pre-production label stays until then. Competitor specs come from each manufacturer's published floorplan and construction pages, cross-checked against what reviewers read off the unit on camera; dealer listings supply street prices only, and every spec cell names its source. Nothing is scored or ranked; a cell is a published fact or it says Not published. Comments and replies were collected in full from 23 videos, model year 2026 or newer, and every quote links to the exact comment or timestamp. Included means standard or in a manufacturer-mandatory package; Optional and Prep are as stated; Not verified means unpublished, not absent. Manufacturer logos and floorplan drawings identify each maker's product and remain their property. Manufacturer BTU, decibel and insulation figures are claims, not tests. Research date 2026-09-08.
